Australian SMTP / API Servers

For Australian customers, SMTP2GO provides the option of dedicated Australian SMTP / API services by utilizing our Australian-based data center located in Sydney. 

Using SMTP2GO's Australian SMTP services for email delivery will ensure data processing stays local as sending (SMTP or API) will be processed by our Australian-based servers only. Another advantage of keeping processing local is it reduces latency improving delivery speeds.

If you sign up from Australia, you will automatically be assigned to the Australian data center. If you're new to SMTP2GO or in the market for a highly-rated SMTP service and looking to remove the headaches with email delivery, our Getting started with SMTP2GO article is a great place to begin.

To check your data location, when logged into your account dashboard in the lower left corner it will display 'Hosted in Australia' if your account is assigned to Australia. If you have an older account that was created before the Australian data center was introduced or you're not set to Australia, please reach out to our support team and we can migrate your account.

By default, data is visible in accounts on the Activity page for 30 days if you're on a paid plan or 5 days on the free plan, then deleted after 35 days. Paid plans have the option to store Activity data for longer (60 days to 2 years) by using the Activity Storage Duration feature. 
If you require storing full email details (body content, attachments and delivery details), paid plans have access to Email Archiving which allows you to store that for a selected duration (3 months to 5 years). Note: Extending the Activity storage duration or enabling Email Archiving will incur additional fees. 

To connect to our servers via SMTP, we recommend connecting to 'mail.smtp2go.com' which will connect you to the nearest servers and offers further redundancy. However, you can choose to connect directly to the Australian inbound servers by connecting to 'mail-au.smtp2go.com'. If your software/device cannot connect to the server name, we offer static IPs to connect to the Australian servers which include 172.105.254.10 or 194.195.251.121.

For accounts on plans of 100,000 emails per month and above, you will receive an Australian-based dedicated IP address. Further dedicated IPs can be added at a cost per IP per month basis.

SMS Messaging (email to SMS) is available for paid-level plans with the option of adding dedicated Australian phone numbers.
