DNS Setup for HostGator

The following guide is relevant for SMTP2GO customers, who have a domain name hosted with HostGator.

Step 1

Log in to your cPanel at HostGator. Go to the Domains section and click the Advanced DNS Zone Editor.

Step 2

To create a new record, go to the section Add a Record.

Enter the Hostname we recommend into the Name field.
Note: You may only need to add the first part of the recommended hostname and not your full domain name to your DNS records as your provider may automatically add it.

Enter the desired TTL value into the TTL field. The recommended value is 14400.

Select the CNAME option from the Type drop-down menu.

Enter the Value that we advise for your CNAME record into the CNAME field.

Click on the Add Record button.

You can find the "Hostname/Name" and "Value" on the Sending > Verified Senders > Sender domains section of your SMTP2GO Dashboard.

Repeat step 2 for each required CNAME record.
